The Swiss Business Council (SBC) of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is a non-profit organization, licensed by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ADCCI), and established in the year 2000. Since its creation, it has successfully promoted the interests and activities of companies and individuals with connections between the Abu Dhabi Emirate, the UAE and Switzerland.

The SBC Abu Dhabi is a lively and stimulating forum of diverse interests and has a variety of both business and social events on offer. Working closely with Switzerland’s official representatives in the UAE, we organize business get-togethers, arrange meetings for delegations as well as facilitating the exchange with members from various industry sectors. We regularly successfully team-up with other Business Councils organizing joint events with leading guest speakers to further increase the networking opportunities for our members and to benefit from synergies. All our events are open to members and invited guests.

The SBC Abu Dhabi has an active, enthusiastic and constantly expanding membership base, ranging from UAE National corporations through Swiss multinationals to individual private members. It is open for membership under individual and corporate categories for companies and individuals with business interests in the United Arab Emirates and / or Switzerland. To qualify for membership, companies and individuals should be able to demonstrate a clear business or cultural focus and interaction with Switzerland – either as a Swiss National, Swiss registered organization, or a local representative, agent or distributor of Swiss goods and services. The Swiss Business Council has independently managed branches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and members can choose to join one or both SBC’s and thus increase their networking benefits in both Emirates.

The directory of members will provide an insight into the broad spectrum of activities undertaken by the council members.

The SBC Abu Dhabi is overseen by an Executive Committee (ExCom) whose responsibility is to organize a regular, diverse calendar of events and activities including presentations and dialogue with influential local and expatriate speakers, introduction of new Swiss companies in the UAE, and discussion with representatives of the Swiss and UAE Governments. There are monthly social and networking events to stimulate the exchange of ideas and experiences among the membership.

Additionally, members receive updates covering business, cultural and promotional activities in the UAE. The SBC Abu Dhabi interacts closely with the Swiss Embassy and the Swiss Business Hub Dubai.
