The Swiss Business Council UAE (SBC UAE) is committed to ensure your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal data (“Personal Data”) when you use our website or communicate with us. This privacy policy (the “Policy”) sets out the basis on which any information, including any Personal Data, we might collect from you, or you provide us, will be processed by the SBC UAE. 

By accessing our website www.swissbcuae.com and/or communicating with the SBC UAE via the contact form on our website, via email or any other channels, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Policy.

This Policy describes how and why we might collect, store and use personal information, and provides information about your rights.

Should you not agree to any part of this Policy, please do not provide us with your personal information and consequently, we may not be able to offer any further services to you.

Data Controller
‍The SBC UAE is the data controller of your personal information processed via the site.

Furthermore, in providing our services, we act as an independent data controller and are, therefore, responsible for complying with Data Protection rules in the UAE in respect of any Personal Data we process.

- carry out requests made by you on the site or in relation to our services

All of our partners, employees, consultants and data processors, who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal information, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of such Personal Data.

Sharing of Personal Data
Generally, we only use your information with the SBC UAE. However, there may be circumstances, we may disclose your Personal Data to a recipient for the purposes of outsourcing one or more of the purposes-related functions. In this respect, you understand, that such transmission and processing of your Personal Data may take place, provided that it is a prerequisite for the provision of the services and fulfilment of the SBC UAE’s contractual obligations or when it is a prerequisite to transmit such information prior to us entering into a business agreement on your behalf.

Furthermore, in carrying out services, the SBC UAE works with carefully selected service providers that carry out certain functions on its behalf. This include, without limitation, public authority and administration, translation agency, insurance, technology services, processing payments, audit services, other experts etc. Please note that this list is non-exhaustive and there may be other examples where we need to share information with other parties in order to provide the services as effectively as we can, but in accordance with the relevant terms of business.

In relation to any other third parties, we only disclose your information where you have given your consent or where we are required to do so by the applicable law or regulations.

We do not sell, rent, distribute or make Personal Data commercially available to any third party.

Your Rights
Asper the EU General Data Protection Regulation, (GDPR) or similar legislation around the world, the SBC UAE provides you with the possibility to know what Personal Data concerning you has been collected and/or processed, and if they are accurate. If there are any inaccuracies, you have the right to either have the information corrected or deleted.

Furthermore, you have the following rights:

- request access to your personal data
- request a correction, deletion or restriction concerning the processing of your personal data
- object to the processing of your personal data
- request data portability (to obtain copies and transfer it to another data controller)
- revoke (withdraw) your consent at any time

Please note that some of these rights may be limited where we have an overriding interest or legal obligation to continue to process the data or where data maybe exempt from disclosure due to reasons of legal professional privilege or professional secrecy obligations.

Information from cookies may include statistical information about the interaction of users with the website, the number of visitors to the site, information about your computer (such as IP address and browser type), and demographic data.

How long we keep your Personal Data

We have further the obligation to keep your Personal Data for 5 years after our business relationship has ended. Your Personal Data that is processed for marketing purposes will be stored until you exercise the right to withdraw consent, and once such right is exercised, your personal information will be kept only during the applicable statute of limitations period for any disputes or liabilities that may arise as a consequence of the processing of that information.

Changes to this Privacy Policy
Swiss Group may update this Policy from time to time. We may also make changes as required to comply with changes in applicable law or regulatory requirements. Any changes we make to our policy will be posted on our website with a date, so that you are always aware of the latest update.
